Template Spectra for Infrared-Luminous Galaxies

This page makes available template spectral energy distributions (SEDs) for infrared galaxies, in machine-readable table format. These spectra are described in "Determining Star Formation Rates for Infrared Galaxies," G.H. Rieke et al., ApJ, 692, 556. arXiv version: http://arxiv.org/abs/0810.4150.

These are the full versions of Tables 3 and 4 of the paper.

Table 3: table3_localseds.txt contains SEDs of 11 local infrared-luminous galaxies.

Table 4: table4_avgtemplates.txt contains synthesized SEDs of 14 average templates in a sequence of increasing infrared luminosity.

(Please note that above L_IR = 2e12 L_solar, the average SED sequence is an extrapolation since there are no local purely star-forming galaxies that bright. Derived results such as star formation rates for high-redshift galaxies at L_IR > 2e12 are extrapolations and should be viewed with caution.)
